Leaving Certificate Programme / LCVP Programme

Some students follow the traditional Leaving Certificate Programme and some students also pursue the LCVP (Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme) in addition.

Leaving Certificate Programme (2 Years)

Core subjects; Religion, Irish, English, Maths, PE and Career Guidance (5th years). Optional Subjects (Choice of four). Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, Accounting, History, Geography, French, German, Design and Communication Technology, Construction Studies, Music and Art.

 LCVP (Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme)

Each student must take as the core elements of the LCVP

Two leaving Certificate subjects from a set of Vocational subjects

A modern language

Two Link Modules (Preparation for the World of Work, Enterprise Education)

Irish

Students must sit at least five Leaving Certificate subjects.

The LCVP Examination is assessed through two modes of a written examination and a portfolio of coursework. LCVP can be counted as one of the 6 subjects for points.
